Panama confirms to EU that it is committed to amending call center regime

On 12 March 2018, the European Union (EU) published a compilation of commitment letters1 on taxation received from various jurisdictions, including Panama.2 Panama stated in its letter that it is committed to amending its call center regime before 31 December 2018. The expected changes consist of eliminating the "ring-fencing" features contained in the regime.

A follow up Tax Alert will be issued regarding the amendments made to Panama's call center regime.
