Kenya Revenue Authority postpones placement of excise stamps on certain goods and will hold public consultations

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), through a public notice issued on 31 July 2018, has postponed the implementation the Excisable Goods Management System (EGMS) on bottled water and juice which had been scheduled to commence on 1 August 2018.

Next steps

The decision was made to allow for consultations with the various stakeholders.1 At this stage, no date has been set for its implementation. The KRA is expected to communicate a new date for implementation following these consultations.
