R&D incentives continue to draw government favor

Reflections from EY’s The outlook for global tax policy in 2018

While EY’s publication, The outlook for global tax policy in 2018, signaled a consistent picture of tax competition across many policy measures, the research and development (R&D) incentives category sees more taxpayer-supporting measures than in any of the 13 other business tax categories tracked in this year’s annual publication. This new EY report discusses why this is occurring, before providing a summary of known 2018 changes so far, including those which have occurred since the Outlook report was issued.
