How will Digital Service Taxes affect your business? Thursday, 13 December 2018 / Friday, 14 December 2018 Dear all, The world over, governments and regulatory bodies are reviewing how to achieve fair and equitable indirect taxation in a digital world – either through expanding the scope of existing indirect tax regimes, or consulting on the introduction of new indirect taxes such as Digital Services Tax. For the European Union (EU), ECOFIN (the Economic and Financial Affairs Council) has made modernizing the digital economy a priority and has issued proposals for an EU-wide Digital Service Tax. The Council is expected to provide further updates on its position with respect to Digital Service Tax following a meeting on Tuesday 4 December 2018. The EU actions have triggered proposals from a number of individual countries around the world and more are expected following the developments in the EU. Join us on Thursday 13 or Friday 14 December 2018 when our panel of EY Indirect Tax professionals will discuss the latest updates on Digital Service Taxes around the world, and their impact on business. Topics of discussion will include: - Global Digital Service Tax landscape
- What is Digital Service Tax and who does it apply to?
- EU proposals and individual EU country actions (e.g. UK, Spain)
- What’s happening in the rest of the world (e.g. Australia)
- Updates following the ECOFIN meeting on 4 December 2018
- Current EU proposals/recommendations
- What has changed?
- Timelines, next steps and what can be expected as a consequence
- What does this mean for business?
