Turkey restricts importation of certain animal and agricultural products from China into free trade zones

On 6 February 2020, the Istanbul Industrial and Free Trade Zone Directorate published Opinion 52071523 regarding the importation of certain animal and agricultural products from China into Turkish free trade zones (FTZs).

Accordingly, the entry of animal and agricultural products from the People’s Republic of China, listed in the combined nomenclature (CN) chapters 01 through 24 (as referenced in the Opinion), are restricted from entry into a Turkish FTZ until further notification. Categories covered by the CN chapters include: (i) Live Animals, Animal Products; (ii) Vegetable Products; (iii) Animal or Vegetable Fats and Oils and their cleavage products; and (iv) Prepared Foodstuffs; Beverages; Spirits and vinegar; Tobacco.
