Panama’s Ministry of Health temporarily suspends construction-related activities to mitigate spread of COVID-19

Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 among the Panamanian citizens, Panama’s Ministry of Health issued Executive Decree No. 506 of 24 March 2020, ordering the temporary suspension of construction-related activities, including all projects currently under development, except for those authorized by the health authorities. The suspension is in response to the state of national emergency declared by the Cabinet Ministers of Panama through Cabinet Resolution No. 11 of 13 March 2020.

The suspension will apply to activities related to the manufacturing and distribution of concrete, cement and its derivatives. The suspension went into effect on 25 March 2020 and will apply for 30-calendar days.
