07 October 2020 Wednesday, 14 October 2020 | Mutual Agreement Procedure in KSA – MNE’s relief from double taxation (2:00 pm KSA) On 9 June 2020, The General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) in Saudi Arabia published on its website the “Request for Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP) — Taxpayer guidance” in both Arabic and English. Taxpayers, including multinational enterprises (MNEs) in Saudi Arabia may choose to initiate MAP requests to relieve double taxation or resolve treaty-based tax disputes in a timely manner. This is in line with Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) Action 14 minimum standard as a member of the BEPS Inclusive Framework (BEPS IF). In this webcast the agenda will include: - MAP and its broad implications
- Leading practice examples seen around the globe
- Existing tax controversy in Saudi Arabia
- Typical cases where MAP might be useful (e.g., transfer pricing and permanent establishment)
- The MAP process in Saudi Arabia
