05 January 2023 Thursday, 26 January 2023 | Tax Policy matters: Implementation of BEPS 2.0 Pillar Two in the European Union (2 pm CET) With the adoption of the EU's Minimum Tax Directive on 15 December 2022, work is underway by the legislators of EU Member States to transpose the rules by 31 December 2023. Additionally, on 20 December 2022, the OECD released guidance on a temporary Country-by-Country reporting safe harbor and penalty relief. In short, businesses in scope and tax authorities have less than a year to prepare. What does this mean in practice for EU and non-EU headquartered groups in scope? How do the rules impact competition? And how does the Directive fit in with the broader EU tax agenda? In addition to addressing the questions above, we will also discuss the EU's response to the US Inflation Reduction Act 2022 and the new Foreign Subsidies Regulation, the revised Code of Conduct on Business Taxation and other relevant initiatives such as EU public Country-by-Country Reporting. Join us for a special 90-minute webcast, where a multi-jurisdictional panel of EY professionals will discuss the implications of the latest developments and share perspectives on how businesses and administrations around the world are responding.
