Monday, 30 January 2023 | BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2: How financial institutions can comply in time (2:30 pm CET)

Please join us for our EY Financial Services tax webcast, BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2: How financial institutions can comply in time on Monday, 30 January 2023 at 13:30–14:45 GMT / 14:30–15:45 CET.

During the 75-minute webcast, a panel of EY EMEIA tax professionals will discuss the immediate actions  multinational organizations can take to help ensure compliance with BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2. Particularly, in time for when the new law comes into member states’ national law by the end of 2023.

We will cover:

  • Recent developments from the OECD, EU and in-country developments (UK, US).

  • Actions financial services organizations can consider to comply with the global minimum tax rules.

  • How this new reporting obligation can create an opportunity to engage with existing or future transformative programs such as ESG and public country-by-country reporting.

Background

Following extensive global discussions among jurisdictions participating in the BEPS 2.0 project, the OECD has now released significant, new substantive and administrative details on both Pillar 1 and Pillar 2. Activity around implementation of Pillar 2 global minimum taxes is expected to expand and accelerate further in 2023.

With the recent adoption of the directive by the EU Commission, many European countries will begin enforcing the regulation from January 2024. Financial services organizations operating in these jurisdictions will therefore need to begin preparing now to help to ensure timely compliance.

Over the next 12 months, all organizations (financial services and non-financial services) should consider developing a whole new ledger and reporting system, and prepare reporting and disclosure data for their audit. This is likely to be a requirement wherever the rules apply.

We hope you’ll be able to join us.
