December 21, 2023 Wednesday, 24 January 2024 | Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism: Implications for ASEAN businesses (3 pm SGT) Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is a key feature of the European Union’s (EU) Green Deal package to address carbon leakage in cross-border trade. As with any such measure, the costs and obligations will likely be passed down the supply chain to the suppliers. On 1 October 2023, the CBAM has officially entered into force with the first CO2 emissions reporting deadline of 31 January 2024. Due to significant amount of direct and indirect exports of CBAM products to the EU by ASEAN suppliers, the implementation of the CBAM is expected to have significant implications for businesses. ASEAN suppliers exporting to the EU will need to navigate the challenges posed by CBAM, including providing EU customers with the information for preparing the quarterly CO2 emission reporting. Manufacturers and suppliers who are able to support their EU clients in this area will gain a competitive advantage. We are delighted to invite you to this session, which aims to focus on addressing the implications of CBAM for ASEAN businesses. Our speakers will discuss important CBAM developments and share insights and ideas that help companies to develop an actionable plan to get ready for CBAM. Webinar highlights
