Ukrainian nationals under the Temporary Protection Directive may now register with the Swedish Population Registry

Effective 14 June 2024, Ukrainian nationals who have resided in Sweden for at least two years pursuant to the Temporary Protection Directive (TPD) may register with the Swedish Population Registry. In light of the European Council's agreement regarding the proposal to extend the TPD until March 2026, Sweden announced that qualifying Ukrainian nationals may register with the Swedish Population Registry as of 14 June 2024. Specifically, Ukrainian nationals who have resided in Sweden under the TPD for at least two years and expect to remain in the country under the TPD for at least three years (from the date they were granted residence authorization under the TPD) may now register with the Swedish Population Registry.
