Norway implements application fees for children under the age of 18

Effective 1 January 2026, the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) implemented application fees for children under the age of 18 who apply for dependent permits (Family Immigration category). As of 1 January 2026, an application fee equivalent to half of the fee for dependent permits for adults applies to children. This corresponds to NOK 5,950 for first-time applications and NOK 2,200 for renewals filed prior to the expiry of current permits. Previously, children under the age of 18 who applied for dependent permits were not required to pay immigration application fees.
