14 September 2026 Brazil begins issuance of electronic temporary visas for visa-exempt nationals Effective 1 September 2026, most Brazilian consular posts worldwide began implementing the electronic issuance of temporary visas for nationals who are exempt from Brazil's visitor visa requirement but nevertheless require a temporary visa to enter Brazil for purposes such as employment, study, family reunification or other residence-based activities. Under the new process, eligible applicants are expected to submit their visa applications and supporting documents electronically through Brazil's Integrated Consular System. Once approved, the visa should be sent electronically to the email address provided in the application, eliminating the routine requirement to submit the applicant's physical passport.
